Shareware

Our purpose in this page is to compile information about shareware. Clearly other sites have similar objectives, and we restrict the information here as much as possible to pointers to other general sites (meta-sites), rather than give information about specific shareware products. Exceptions may be major products or sites of companies producing many sharewares. However, we intend to list directly any study about shareware in general that may have been made available on the Internet or in print, concerning its development, its economic impact, its performances, its use in industry, teaching or administration, etc ...

Shareware Sites

These sites usually mix shareware and freeware. They often give an assessment of the quality of the software they reference. They are usually structured by themes. They seldom have the software on site, but refer to other distribution sites. Hence the references may sometimes be stale.
